Will You Choose Wellness in August?
I have spent the past two years choosing wellness, and you know what? I feel amazing! My body feels better. My mental health has improved. I’m not tired all the time because I’m getting a full night of restful sleep. I can actually focus on tasks and get them completed. I have time management now (who would have thought that would happen through self-care rituals). Overall, I have more time and energy. All these benefits just from incorporating small self-care habits into my everyday life!
Choosing wellness isn’t just something that you try and leave behind when you mess up. It’s a lifestyle change that continues to benefit you. You chose wellness when you decided to visit us. Did you continue to choose wellness when you got home? What happened when you did? What happened when you didn’t?
During my time at TFS, I learned to fuel my body in a way that gives me energy and strength. I learned what exercises work best for me and when to do them. However, once I left TFS, I struggled with making sure I was getting those workouts in when I said I would and eating healthy foods. But then I heard this tip from someone, “If you’re saying you don’t have time for X, try saying X is not a priority.” That phrase flipped a switch for me. If I don’t have time to WORKOUT/EAT HEALTHY, then my HEALTH is not a priority. Ummm… HELLO! How can I survive if my HEALTH is not important to ME?
After that, I started planning my days accordingly to make sure I was getting my workouts in. I started planning my weeks so I could properly meal prep. I basically re-learned how to take care of myself.
